Bird by the water

I recently chatted with a friend about Morro Bay. He and his wife were there for a week last month, and it made me think back to our trip down last Thanksgiving. Jake and I went through Morro Bay on our way to Avila Beach, and it really was beautiful.

After parking near Morro Rock, we started walking along the beach. In the midst of the rocks and small waves inching up the sand, we saw a flock of seagulls dancing around. This particular bird didn’t seem to mind my presence, so naturally, I snapped a few shots.

Last Days of Summer on Martha’s Vineyard

It is the last days of summer.  Vacations have ended. The summer crowd has left the beaches. I comfort myself with a friend’s reminder that much as we love summer, winter is when things happen.

Still, we already yearn for the return of the lazy days of summer!

It’s Hot–Think Cool

When the temperature reaches 100 to 110 degrees here in the Mid-West, I remember cooler days along the California coast.

Wouldn’t it be great to dip your toes in this clear, beautiful water. One of our most valuable resources, cool water represents life and adventure.  And it is cool, wonderfully cool.

Think cool.  Be cool.
